Lea Michele & Cory Monteith: Hockey Date Duo

Stepping out for some sporting action, Lea Michele and Cory Monteith hit up the Vancouver Canucks vs. San Jose Sharks game in Vancouver, Canada (May 1).
The “Glee” costars/real-life couple seemed to be thoroughly enjoying their date as they cheered for the home team, though San Jose ended up winning 3-1.

Cory recently completed a stint in rehab for an undisclosed addiction, and following his release he tweeted, “Sending out big love to everyone. Thank you for the continued support! It means the world to me!”
Lea also posted, “Today is a great day. Love you all! Xo,” upon her beau’s homecoming. When Monteith first checked in to the rehabilitation clinic, Michele told press, “I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this. I am grateful and proud he made this decision.”

Jason Collins Talks Aftermath of Coming Out

He made headlines with the revelation of his homosexual orientation, and Jason Collins couldn’t be more relieved to have it all out in the open.
The NBA star says he struggled with when to make his secret known, and the Boston Marathon bombings "reinforced the notion that I shouldn't wait for the circumstances of my coming out to be perfect. Things can change in an instant, so why not live truthfully?"

“I endured years of misery and went to enormous lengths to live a lie. I think the country is ready for supporting an openly gay basketball player."
As for the support he’s received thus far, Jason gushed, "I know that I, right now, am the happiest I've ever been in my life. A huge weight has been lifted. I've already been out to my family and my friends, but just to, you know, sort of rip the Band-Aid off and come out on my own terms … I hope that every player makes a decision that leads to their own happiness."
Collins also hopes that his example will help other gay athletes be bold about their sexuality. "I'm ready to raise my hand but, you know, you still look around like, 'OK, come on, guys.’ It's time for someone else in the room to raise their hand and say, 'You know what? Yeah, so big deal. I can still play basketball. I can still help the team win, and that's what's most important.' "

NBA Star Jason Collins in Sports Illustrated: I'm Gay

Making history in the professional sports world, Jason Collins came out as gay in Sports Illustrated magazine.
In the May 6 issue, Jason simply opened with, "I'm a 34-year-old NBA center. I'm black. And I'm gay."

"I didn't set out to be the first openly gay athlete playing in a major American team sport. But since I am, I'm happy to start the conversation. I wish I wasn't the kid in the classroom raising his hand and saying, 'I'm different.' If I had my way, someone else would have already done this. Nobody has, which is why I'm raising my hand," the basketball star added.
Collins continued, "It takes an enormous amount of energy to guard such a big secret. I've endured years of misery and gone to enormous lengths to live a lie. I was certain that my world would fall apart if anyone knew. And yet when I acknowledged my sexuality I felt whole for the first time. I still had the same sense of humor, I still had the same mannerisms and my friends still had my back."
After the article published, former President Bill Clinton praised Jason, stating, "I have known Jason Collins since he was Chelsea's classmate and friend at Stanford. Jason's announcement today is an important moment for professional sports and in the history of the LGBT community," Clinton says in a statement. "It is also the straightforward statement of a good man who wants no more than what so many of us seek: to be able to be who we are; to do our work; to build families and to contribute to our communities. For so many members of the LGBT community, these simple goals remain elusive. I hope that everyone, particularly Jason's colleagues in the NBA, the media and his many fans extend to him their support and the respect he has earned."

Making the most of some time off from her "Diamonds" World Tour, Rihanna enjoyed quality time with BFF Melissa Forde at a Heat game in Miami on Sunday (April 21).
While watching the NBA team celebrate another victory from her courtside seats, the "We Found Love" songstress rocked an causal ensemble as she smiled for the shutterbugs and fans at the game.

Just a few hours before the event, Rihanna was poolside wrapping 4/20 celebrations where she partied it up with a few of her new stripper friends who attended her concert the night before.
The 25-year-old singer tweeted, "Lastnight one of my fantasies came to life! I got to see K.O.D. strippers dance for me to the stripper song I made! Wild for the night, phuck being polite!"
Rihanna also took pictures of a marijuana leaf shaped cake she received from one of her fans and tweeted, "What did I do to deserve the epicness that is my fans??!!"
"It's a celebration b******!! Thank you to all my ft. Lauderdale and Miami fam that came through," she added.

Jay-Z Resigns Ownership of Brooklyn Nets

He’s on the road to developing Roc Nation Sports agency, so Jay-Z had to say goodbye to his role as part owner of the Brooklyn Nets.
The “99 Problems” rapper explained that while he may not be on the investor roster, he still has love for the team.

Jay began, "Being a member of the Nets organization surpassed some of my greatest ambitions. It was never about an investment; it was about the NETS and Brooklyn. My job as an owner is over but as a fan it has just begun. I'm a Brooklyn Net forever. It's been an honor to work with Mikhail Prokhorov, Dmitry Razumov, Christophe Charlier, ONEXIM Sports and Entertainment, Brett Yormark and all the wonderful people involved in making the Nets first class.”
“My sincerest thanks goes to Bruce Ratner, who first introduced the idea of moving the Nets to Brooklyn. A thank you and deepest appreciation goes to the fans. You are the lifeblood of any team."
He continued, "The Nets have made their mark on the NBA and as they enter a new era, Roc Nation does as well; as we embark on Roc Nation Sports. Our newest endeavor is committed to building the brands of professional athletes as we have done for some of today's top music artists. For Roc Nation Sports to function at its full potential, NBA rules stipulate that I relinquish my ownership in the Brooklyn Nets. It was a tough decision but as I stated earlier, it's not about ownership. Congratulations to The Nets on a great season and making the playoffs! I will always be a Brooklyn Net."

David Beckham: Soccer Fun With The Kids

Tending to his fatherly duties, David Beckham took his sons to the French First League Paris Saint-Germain training camp today (April 19).
Mr. Golden Balls himself showed Brooklyn , Romeo, and Cruz how to take their soccer game to the next level on the pitch at Cam des Loges while fans stood by and cheered.

Meanwhile, it seems PSG has been trying everything possible to get Becks to stay on the squad when his short-term contract runs out at the end of the season.
David explained, “The owners and the manager have made it very clear that they would like me to stay. I’m very touched and very honored by that.
“It has been an amazing time so far. Hopefully we’ll be successful, then we’ll make the decision on what I do. I’m 38 in May and you get a reminder of your age every now and again but I’m enjoying playing. I love playing . . . retiring is not an option yet.”
