With a successful tour underway, Bruno Mars is showing off his funky side on the cover of GQ magazine's April 2013 issue.

During the interview, Mr. Mars recalls the evening he was arrested for possession of drugs. "I was really drunk. So a lot of that is a big blur, and I try every day to forget and keep pushing."
"'I can take this s*** away from you, young man.' That was the lesson," Bruno adds. "You've slaved away for years and years and years. You've prepped your whole life. It's all you know how to do. You're a kid experiencing life in f****** Sin City, and that was the lesson: It can all be taken away. Put you in a weird place. Embarrass you."
While discussing his music, the singing sensation admits that songwriting isn't as easy as it looks. "That sh*t is hard, man. It's so hard to do. Might be one of the hardest things to ever do. I don't ever want to come out with something safe and get away with 'It sounds good!' It's got to be more than sounding good."
"It's that unexplainable high. Why I keep doing it. That feeling that you keep on chasing and chasing. Because it's nothing, man. It's taking the air and turning it into something. That's the feeling," Bruno added.
In regards to his latest single "Locked Out of Heaven," the Grammy-winner says, "That one shocked me. That it turned out the way it did. I haven't done a song like that. And hopefully every album, I'll get that feeling. And shock the world! Shock the world!"
