Gucci Mane Released From Jail

Having served nearly three weeks in jail for a probation violation, Gucci Mane was released into the free world on Thursday (May 2).
The "First Day Out" rapper was put behind bars on April 13th after allegedly hitting a clubgoer in the head at an Atlanta nightclub on March 25th.
The incident caused the 33-year-old hip-hop star to be charged with aggravated assault in addition to his probation violation. Gucci will return to court later this month.
That isn't the end of his legal woes, however. The alleged victim in the bottling incident, James Lettley, is suing the rapper. According to Lettley, he was at Harlem Nights Ultra Lounge when he came up to Gucci, telling him he was a soldier and a fan. After asking for a photo, the rapper allegedly nailed him with a bottle.
Denying any wrongdoing, Gucci's attorney Drew Findling stated, "The evidence continues to just be only the victim’s statement. In these days if somebody makes an epically prejudicial statement … or commits a violent act, it’s all over YouTube before you can pronounce YouTube. But nothing surfaced in a week after the incident.”
