Matthew McConaughey's "Dallas Buyers Club" Picked Up by Focus Features

After losing almost 40 pounds to play his role in the film, it looks like Matthew McConaughey's hard work paid off, as "Dallas Buyers Club" was just picked up by Focus Features.
Focus CEO James Schamus and Focus president Andrew Karpen made the announcement on Tuesday (April 23) and are planning on a release in the second half of the year.
Aside from the domestic rights of the flick, the company has also picked up the rights for Latin America.
"Dallas Buyers Club" follows the story of real-life Texas electrician Ron Woodroof who was diagnosed with full blown HIV/AIDS back in the 80's and was given thirty days to live. Woodruff begins the real-life struggles to beat the life-threatening disease, as he uses alternative medicine that he imports from Mexico.
