{PHOTOS} Nigerian Idols Day Out With Wizkid Refreshed By Pepsi

With the finalist selected and the battle heated for the title “Nigerian Idol Season 3”, Pepsi, the associate sponsor of the Nigerian Idols, took the finalist on an outing in Lagos Island with Pepsi music star Wizkid last Monday February 25. For the Finalist it was a day to mingle with the Star, Wizkid.

The day started with a workout session at the prestigious Radisson Blue hotel gym. Pepsi understands the need for a star to stay fit.

Lesson one: “you must keep fit to be a successful musician.” That, the contestants learnt from Wizkid as he pedals away on his treadmill. “No wonder he is very energetic on stage and able to fly long hours across continents for music engagements,” they would have reasoned.
From Raddison Blu the Nigerian Idol contestants were driven to a studio where they took some singing lessons from Wizkid to build their confidence. “Always believe in yourself and your ability,” Wizkid charged the contestants.
At Johnny Rockets, the new happening restaurant on 1411, Adetokunbo Ademola Street Victoria Island Lagos, the contestants and Wizkid rocked to exciting music and ate delicious food mixed with refreshing Pepsi.
“This is really great. The opportunity of mixing up with a superstar like Wizkid is a good booster to my quest at being really good in my musical career. I appreciate Pepsi’s contribution”, said Angus Okafor one of the contestants.
Job Emmanuel (Joe Emma) succinctly puts it: “Pepsi has been up and on with so many exciting things. It’s really fun and exciting singing along with Wizkid. The experience will linger for a long while. I am very pleased with the good work that Pepsi is doing. Right from the auditioning period, they have shown that they care so much for the contestants”.
Mr. Norden Thurston, Head of Marketing Seven-Up Bottling Company Plc said that Pepsi has always been at the forefront of youth culture through music. The brand has been associated with mega superstars like Michael Jackson, Madonna, Britney Spears and The Black Eyed Peas to name a few. Beyonce has recently been signed as the Pepsi global music brand ambassador. To show its belief in the local music industry, Pepsi has also signed artists Wizkid, Tiwa Savage and Lynxxx as its Nigerian music brand ambassadors.
He went on to say that global stars have been discovered through the Idols music platform and he hopes the next Wizkid, Lynxxx or Tiwa will be discovered through Nigerian Idols and will go on to have successful careers in the music industry.
