He was known and loved by millions as Muggle guardian Vernon Dursley, and sadly Richard Griffiths died yesterday (March 28).
The “Harry Potter” actor succumbed to complications stemming from heart surgery at University Hospital in Coventry, England at the age of 65.
Not only did Richard work with Daniel Radcliffe in the Potter franchise, but they also costarred in the “Equus” stage drama together.
Radcliffe expressed his grief in a statement to the press- “Richard was by my side during to of the most important moments of my career. I was proud to know him.”
National Theatre director Nicholas Hytner also shared some lovely sentiments- "His anecdotes were legendary. They were, literally, endless. They would go on for hours, apparently without destination, constantly side-splitting."
