Justin Timberlake Blamed For Britney Spears’ Mental Breakdown

As Britney's former manager Sam Lutfi is suing her and her parents for defamation and breach of contract, the lawyers representing Britney and her family insinuated during their opening statement that her breakup with Justin in 2002 is responsible for her ensuing mental issues!
The trial in the case of Britney Spears and her parents Jamie and Lynne Spears vs. Brit's former manager Sam Lutfi, in which Sam is suing for defamation and breach of contract, has only just gotten underway, but strange information is already being released in court. As the lawyer for Britney and her family made their opening statements on Friday, Oct. 19, a claim that the end of Britney's relationship with Justin Timberlake in 2002 let to her downward spiral!

The lawyer said that, prior to the breakup, Britney was "a ray of light," but that afterwards, she became "angered and depressed." It's this anger and pain that is blamed for the downward spiral that eventually led Britney to a 5150 psychiatric hold on Jan. 31, 2008, allowing for her father to file for a conservatorship. Britney remains under that conservatorship today.
