Fergie envies City funds

United boss: City spending insane

Sir Alex Ferguson believes the spending power of clubs like Manchester City has made the transfer market "insane".
The Manchester United manager admits his side are unable to compete with City, who have spent fortunes on the likes of Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Carlos Tevez with the backing of their wealthy owners.
And the Scot admits he has now been forced to rethink his own transfer strategy, concentrating on finding less established players as he looks to strengthen his own squad in the summer.
"Nobody can match their financial power, no one," Ferguson told the Sunday Telegraph. "It's been insane for a while, for a long time, and I think clubs like City create that.
"We need to reassess the way we're going with that in terms of players. You have to accept that we do it in a different way. We have to look at younger players.
"There's no doubt we'll be bringing players in. Maybe two or three, it depends on the kind of market we're dealing with."
