Body Of Baby Boy Found At Recycling Plant

The body of a baby boy has been found at a recycling plant, police have said.
Staff at the Bell Waste Control site in Scunthorpe called police at about 9.30 on Wednesday morning after the body was discovered among items being sorted by hand for recycling.
Humberside Police said: "At this time, very little is known in terms of the circumstances which led to the baby seemingly being discarded.
"We are concerned that the baby's parents, in particular his mother, may need help and support following the loss of her child and as such she may be very vulnerable at this time.
"We are urging anyone who can help identify the parents of this baby or the parents themselves to come forward in order for us to make sure they get any support or medical treatment that may be required."
Det Sgt Karen Philpott said police could not confirm the age of the child, but said they thought it had been a full-term baby rather than a foetus.
"At this stage we can say that we believe that it is a child," she said.
"At the moment, any further details that I would give you (about how the baby died), I would be speculating.
"Our main priority at this time is to try and identify the mother of this child as we believe that she may need some medical assistance, some support."
She urged any friends or family members of the child's mother to contact police.
