Ben Affleck to Receive Honorary Doctorate from Brown

Adding yet another accomplishment to his already impressive career, Ben Affleck is set to receive an honorary doctorate degree from Brown University.
The “Argo” actor/producer will be presented with his honor on May 26 during the prestigious school's 245th Commencement, according to E! News on Wednesday (April 24).

Affleck is among six individuals who will take home the honor. Others include stand outs in the field of writing, the arts, science, and education.
In keeping with the Ivy League college's tradition, Mr. Affleck will not be making a speech, instead allowing for a member of the graduating class to do so.

Ben Affleck Commits to Living Off $1.50 Per Day for Charity

In an effort to further extend his good deed resume, Ben Affleck committed to living on $1.50 per day to bring awareness to global hunger and poverty.
Teaming up with the “Live Below the Line” charity team, the “Argo” star vowed to live on the small amount of cash, which will cover his food and drink, for five days.

On Monday (April 22), Ben tweeted, “1.4 billion people live on less than $1.50/day. I’m joining Live #BelowTheLine on behalf of @easterncongo. Will you?”
Other stars including Sophia Bush and Josh Groban are also reportedly taking part in the challenge.
The campaign begins on April 29 and runs until May 3.

With one of the social events of the season just a scant month away, celebs are returning their RSVP’s for the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Since President Obama took office, the light-hearted evening has become a can’t-miss event for politically active Hollywood stars.

News agencies are eager to get A-listers to fill their tables, and attendance at the dinner has been around 2,500 and has earned its own Twitter hashtag - “nerdprom.”
