US indicates readiness to assist in improving Nigeria's Power sector

United States special envoy and coordinator For International Energy Affairs Ambassador Carlos Pascual has tasked the Nigerian government to set the right kind of policy environment which would attract investors.

Speaking at the Nigeria -US Bi National Commission working group meeting in Abuja, Ambassador Pascual said the US is interested in investing in Nigeria over a period of time, but to achieve this, companies who would like to invest in Nigeria need to have assurance in Nigeria's investment climate.

He said the US government intends to help Nigeria deal with its energy challenges especially in the areas of the transmission, gas distribution, investment and development of renewable energy.

Permanent Secretary, Ministry Of Petroleum said the continued support of the US would remain valuable and would further cement cooperation and partnership between both countries
