Guy Sues Parents for Not Loving Him Enough, Wants $200,000

Bernard-Bey2-550x223

Bernard Bey, a homeless man from Brooklyn, New York, is suing his parents for not loving him and supporting him enough. He is actually asking for $200,000 in compensation. This is not a joke…
32-year-old Bernard Bey is an aspiring rapper from Brooklyn. He’s also homeless, and blames his parents for his current situation. In a recent interview, he says he ran away from home wen he was just 12 years old, because his family abused him both physically and verbally, and he’s been in and out of the shelter system for the last twelve years. He’s also spent time behind bars.
And since he believes his parents are responsible for everything he’s been through, he’s just filed a lawsuit against them in Brooklyn Court, in which he accuses them of making him feel “unloved and beaten by the world”. In the self-written lawsuit, Bey is asking for $200,000 in damages and demands his family mortgage their brownstone in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, to help him open two franchises “like Domino’s Pizza”.
“I don’t feel like my parents love me, they aren’t supportive, they’re emotionally abusive, verbally abusive,” the 32-year-old said. “We don’t have a family bond that a family should have.” He claims that when he went to his family’s house, they made him wait for up to 45 minutes before letting him in. About his claims, the homeless man says: “Why not start a family business and start securing wealth for ourselves?
Anybody that’s logical is not going to sit on an asset and let it deteriorate and live poor when they don’t have to. Why would you do that? Why would you live off the state and get public assistance and food stamps? Why would you allow your children to live like that?” He claims that the extra $200,000 he’s asking for would go to helping out the whole family.
Bernard’s mother, told reporters things are not like her son described. They are in no position to give him that kind of money, seeing as they are currently living in public housing themselves, and the Brooklyn building he’s asking them to mortgage is only partly owned by them. She also says Bernard hasn’t worked a day in his life and needs to go out and get a job.

JTF Arrests 21 In Multiple Oil Theft Crackdown In Nigeria

Several arrests and seizures were made in the past weeks.

The military Joint Task Force, Operation Pulo Shield, operating in the Niger Delta, said it has impounded a vessel allegedly laden with some 2,500 tonnes of stolen crude at Okuboto creek in Bayelsa.
Lt.-Col. Onyema Nwackukwu, the spokesman for team, said Sunday the arrest was made while the vessel was on the verge of filling the fourth of its compartments.
The vessel is currently in custody of Headquarters Sector 2 for preliminary investigations prior to prosecution, he said.
Separately, a barge, allegedly engaged in oil theft activities, was impounded along Golubo creek of Bayelsa while conveying stolen petroleum product, the JTF spokesperson said.
Mr. Nwachukwu said the crew of the barge, fled into the mangrove forest on sighting military, abandoning their barge.
The barge has been towed to AGIP Brass Terminal for safe custody while preliminary investigation is ongoing to identify the owners, he said.
The seizures could not be independently verified. But the task team’s claim appears an escalation of security effort at responding to increasing oil theft in the oil region.
The JTF said in another anti oil theft raid by troops, 30 boats conveying alleged illegally refined petroleum products were intercepted along Aruton and Ugborodo communities of Delta state.
The boats were arrested loaded with plastic tanks filled with stolen petroleum product, and other items, including 11 hand gloves, one packet of electrode, a bunch of clips and 2 pumping machines, were recovered.
The operation, which lasted from April 7 to 14, saw the destruction of eight illegal crude oil refinery camps along Oboro, Kpukpugbene in Burutu and Sagara, near Escravos in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta, Mr. Nwachukwu said.
Also nine steel tanks and 187 large plastic reservoirs used by the oil thieves to perpetrate the crime at the camp sites were destroyed at the site where they were discovered.
The spokesman further said that 21 suspects, arrested at various crime locations, were currently undergoing preliminary investigations in various sectors of the task force and would be subsequently handed over to prosecuting agencies.

Nigerian said Terrorist 'Henry Okah' Bags 24 Years Jail Team

Nigerian Henry Okah has being jailed for 24 years by the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg earlier today (Tuesday).

"Effectively, the accused [Okah] is therefore sentenced to 24 years imprisonment," Judge Neels Claassen said as he handed down sentence.

On 21 January, Okah was found guilty on 13 counts of terrorism, including engaging in terrorist activities, conspiracy to engage in terrorist activities, and delivering, placing, and detonating an explosive device.

The charges related to two car bombs in Abuja, Nigeria, in which 12 people were killed and 36 injured on 1 October 2010, the anniversary of the country's independence.

The second bombing took place in Warri on 15 March 2010 at a post amnesty dialogue meeting. One person was killed and 11 seriously injured.

In both bombings, two car bombs went off minutes apart in both places. The cars were parked in close proximity to each other.

Claassen sentenced Okah to 12 years imprisonment for each of the bombings and 13 years for the threats made to the South African government after his arrest in October 2010.

The 13 years would run concurrently with the 24 years.

In January, during judgment Claassen said the State had proved Okah's guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, and his failure to testify meant the evidence against him remained uncontested.

Okah has denied any involvement, claiming the charges against him were politically motivated.

Pope Francis warns Church could become 'compassionate NGO'

Pope Francis has warned the Catholic Church would become "a compassionate NGO" without spiritual renewal.

In a Sistine Chapel Mass with cardinals on his first day as Church leader, the pontiff, 76, said: "If we do not confess to Christ what would we be?
"We would end up a compassionate NGO. What would happen would be like when children make sand castles and then it all falls down."

'We Are Not Ghosts, We Talk to Northern Governors'- Boko Haram

A faction of the notorious Boko Haram group has responded to President Jonathan’s allegations that they were faceless and would not receive amnesty, since amnesty cannot be given to ghosts.

The group made the proclamation in a statement made by Sheikh Muhammad Abdul’aziz, and distributed to journalists in Maiduguri. The group said its members could not be ghosts as they have been in dialogue with the Borno State government and the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF). Abdul’aziz said: “As regards the statement by Mr. President that we are ghosts, let me say with due respect that we are not ghosts; we have sat with officials of the Borno State Government and a delegation of Northern State Governors’ Forum on Peace and Reconciliation, headed by Air Vice Marshall Mukhtar Muhammad (rtd.).”

Abdul’aziz also said the video clip on YouTube credited to Shekau, where he dissociated the group from the ceasefire and dialogue offer was fake.

He said: “About a week ago, somebody who claimed to be leader of Jama’atul Ahlul Sunnah Lid-Da’waati Wal Jihad, Sheikh Abubakar Shekau, appeared on You Tube and disclaimed peace process going on between the government of Borno State and the group. The purported Sheikh Abubakar Shekau, went further to say that he does not know Sheikh Mohammed Ibn Abdul’aziz. Let me state that the man who appeared on the said YouTube is not Sheikh Abubakar Shekau. The voice is not his and sheikh has never hidden his face.

“Sheikh’s voice is heavily Kanuri accented. The man (in the video) is an impostor deliberately brought to the frontline by those opposed to the peace process.

“I call on (Borno State) Governor Kashim Shettima, to disregard all those propaganda aimed at disrupting the peace process as we are ready and willing to continue to dialogue with government.

“Sheikh knows me and has confidence in my ability and is aware and he blessed the peace process. When I was being sworn in as munzul, that we are going to work for the sake of Allah by the late leader of the group, Sheikh Muhammad Yusuf, he did so in the presence of Sheikh Mallam Ibrahim Mubi, Mallam Ibrahim Agaji, Mallam Sani Kontagora and Babagana Mulima. So, it is impossible for the sheikh to say he does not know me while it is he who promoted me to my present position,” he added.

{Photos} Mom Hires Strippers For 16yr Old's Son's Birthday Party

For hiring strippers for her son's 16th birthday, a New York mum has been arrested and faces up to one year in prison if convicted.

33 year old Judy Viger hired two strippers (seen above with her son) to perform at her son's birthday, where there were plenty under age children. The mother of one of the party goers who found it inappropriate reported Judy to the police who arrested and charged her with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child. They said she endangered not only the welfare of her own child, but the welfare of the 14 and 15 year old children that were at the party. She will appear in court March 7th.

Is ex-cop and fugitive Christopher Dorner dead? The full story.

The former Navy reservist launched a campaign to exact revenge against the Los Angeles Police Department for firing him. He threatened to kill police officers and their families, and actually managed to kill four - two officers and two family members of a police officer.

For those who have never heard the story, let me start from the beginning.

270-pound, 6-foot former Navy officer, Christopher Dorner, 33, joined the Los Angeles Police Department in 2005. Then on September 4th 2008, he was fired for filing a report concerning the conduct of his training officer, Teresa Evans. Christopher claimed in his report that Evans used excessive force - kicking a mentally ill suspect during an arrest in the face while he was handcuffed and lying on the ground. The police didn't believe him, then they fired him. 4+ years later, the trained assassin became the subject of one of the largest manhunts in LAPD history. Continue reading

An internal review board claimed that Christopher had falsified his report in 2008 despite the fact that the kicking victim and the victim's father had corroborated Christopher's report.

No action was taken against officer Evans but Christopher was fired. He challenged his firing in court and lost. And then he decided to be the jury, the judge and the executioner by going after LAPD officers.

Before embarking on a series of shootings and eluding police, Christopher Dorner posted a detailed communication discussing his history, motivations, and plans on his facebook page. This was early February. He also posted a manifesto demanding a public admission by the LAPD that his firing was in retaliation for reporting excessive force. He blamed racism and corruption in the department for his removal and vowed to wage "unconventional and asymmetrical warfare" against LAPD officers and their families. He called it a "last resort" to clear his name and strike back at a department he said mistreated him.

On February 3rd, Christopher killed Monica Quan and her fiance, Keith Lawrence, in a parking lot in Irvine, south of Los Angeles. Quan was the daughter of a now-retired Los Angeles police officer who represented Christopher in a disciplinary hearing that led to his termination.

A few days later, Thursday February 7th, Christopher opened fire on four LAPD police officers. He killed one and wounded three.

On Sunday February 10th, the city of Los Angeles put up $1 million in reward money for help catching Christopher Dorner.

Christopher hid for days in an empty home next to a golf course on a residential street in the small town of Big Bear Lake. When two women arrived yesterday Tuesday February 12th to clean the property he tied them up, then stole their vehicle and drove out of town. He crashed that vehicle and carjacked a white pick-up truck.

Christopher was then confronted on a highway by police officers before fleeing on foot. He fled into the forest and barricaded himself inside an empty mountain cabin after a shootout with police. He killed one deputy in the shoot out.

Police officers broke the cabin's windows, pumped in tear gas and called for Dorner to surrender over a loudspeaker. When there was no reply they used a vehicle to tear down the cabin walls. A single gunshot was then heard before flames engulfed the building.

Early this morning, the police said they found charred remains in the cabin and they believe it's Christopher Dorner. Los Angeles Police spokesman Commander Andrew Smith said: "We believe he is dead. We believe he was in that cabin. We believe he was burned up in that cabin."

The charred remains is yet to be positively identified.

{Watch Here} “The Four Boys” Trailer – A Nollywood Movie Inspired by the Aluu4 Tragedy

The Four Boys
International movies based on real life tragedies such as September 11 and the Holocaust have generated controversy over the years as being insensitive or simply “too difficult” for families of those involved to accept.
The new movie from Nollywood powerhouse production company, Simony Production is titled The Four Boys. The movie is inspired by the tragic lynching of 4 University of Port Harcourt students in October 2012 – Aluu4.
Produced by Sylvester Obadigie and directed by Morgan Ukaegbu, the movie stars 4 upcoming actors Zubby Michael, Paul Sambo, Johnpaul Nwadike and Junior Omoigbaele as the lead character as well as Chiwetalu Agu and Angela Okorie.
Official Synopsis
Based on a true life story, the lead actors played the roles of the four UNIPORT students that were brutally murdered by a notorious vigilante group in 2012.
The movie shows the lifestyle of the boys, which indicated that the boys had great ambitions and a strong desire for education, music, and entertainment in general. Until that unprecedented tragic and horrific incident occurred after the boys were wrongfully accused of stealing laptops and phones. There is a lot of twist to the story, as it was indicated that one of the four boys had previously loaned his friend a lump sum of money before, which was one of the key factors that led to that horrific incident.

Pope Benedict XVI To Resign On February 28th

Pope Benedict XVI will resign on February 28, 2013, a Vatican spokesman said today Monday February 11th. The 85-year-old German-born Pope said he was resigning because he no longer has the strength to fulfill the duties of his office. If the Pope resigns February 28th, he will be the first pontiff since 1415 to step down. See the Pope's full resignation statement after the cut...

Dear Brothers,

I have convoked you to this Consistory, not only for the three canonizations, but also to communicate to you a decision of great importance for the life of the Church.

After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God, I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine ministry.
I am well aware that this ministry, due to its essential spiritual nature, must be carried out not only with words and deeds, but no less with prayer and suffering.

However, in today's world, subject to so many rapid changes and shaken by questions of deep relevance for the life of faith, in order to govern the bark of Saint Peter and proclaim the Gospel, both strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months, has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognize my incapacity to adequately fulfill the ministry entrusted to me.

For this reason, and well aware of the seriousness of this act, with full freedom I declare that I renounce the ministry of Bishop of Rome, Successor of Saint Peter, entrusted to me by the Cardinals on 19 April 2005, in such a way, that as from 28 February 2013, at 20:00 hours, the See of Rome, the See of Saint Peter, will be vacant and a Conclave to elect the new Supreme Pontiff will have to be convoked by those whose competence it is.

Dear Brothers, I thank you most sincerely for all the love and work with which you have supported me in my ministry and I ask pardon for all my defects. And now, let us entrust the Holy Church to the care of Our Supreme Pastor, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and implore his holy Mother Mary, so that she may assist the Cardinal Fathers with her maternal solicitude, in electing a new Supreme Pontiff.

With regard to myself, I wish to also devotedly serve the Holy Church of God in the future through a life dedicated to prayer.

Nigerian Law Makers Accused of Links to Boko Haram Are Being Investigated - IG

Inspector-General of Police (IG), Mohammed Abubakar
By Yemi Akinsuyi
Three senators from Borno State accused of links with Boko Haram are currently being investigated to ascertain the veracity or otherwise of the allegation.
The Inspector-General of Police (IG), Mohammed Abubakar, disclosed this Wednesday during the conference/training of sectional heads of zonal and state Criminal Investigation Departments (CIDs) at the Force Headquarters (FHQ), Abuja.
Senators Mohammed Ndume, representing Borno South Senatorial District; Ahmed Khalifa Zannah, representing Borno Central Senatorial District; and the former Governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, have been variously accused of having ties with the Islamic sect that has carried out terrorist attacks in Northern Nigeria.

But as the police carry out its investigation, Senator Zanna has sued the Minister of Defence, Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Chief of Defence Staff and the spokesman of the Joint Task Force (JTF), Lt. Colonel Sagir Musa, for defamation of character.
The IG said that the police are investigating the allegations against the senators and looking for evidence to prosecute the matter in a court of law.
“We are doing so much. We are looking for evidence and those who have it should give it to us. We are investigating. You cannot take anybody to court without concrete evidence. All the senators you are talking about are under watch and we are investigating.
“So we need assistance and that is part of what the seminar will discuss today (Wednesday) because these investigators need evidence to prosecute their cases,” he pointed out.
The IG decried the decay and incompetence of the CID to resolve certain criminal cases that ordinarily should have been resolved quickly, adding that the investigative unit was very key and important in any police organisation in the world.
“There is no doubt that the investigative unit of the police is very key and important to any police organisation in the world. When we came on board, we realised the lapses and incompetence of not only police officers but also the department to resolve certain criminal cases that ordinarily should have been resolved quickly.
“We found it very expedient that we must go back on track. You are aware of the fact that there are several unresolved cases of murder, rape, kidnapping and other heinous crimes in this country not because the police are incompetent to resolve them or fish out those behind the acts.
“As such, we have several factors, which we shall discuss today (Wednesday) in order to move the force forward,” Abubakar explained.
He further reiterated that the police was working towards the establishment of an efficient and effective CID that would command the respect of Nigerians, observe human rights, do justice to all, shun torture, refrain from illegal detention and grant bail to bailable offences without collecting bribes.
Speaking on the Hon. Farouk Lawan and Femi Otedola bribery case, Abubakar noted that there were other factors the police force had to key into for them to complete the investigation, saying that as soon as they complete the investigation, they would do what was right and ensure that prosecution takes place.
Despite the investigation by the Nigerian Police Force and the State Security Service (SSS) into his alleged ties to Boko Haram, Zannah has dragged the Minister of Defence, Chief of Defence Staff, AGF and JTF spokesman before an Abuja High Court, asking for N5 billion as damages for alleged defamation of character.
The suit filed by Gbenga Olagundoye on behalf of Zannah claimed that Musa on October 19 at a press conference used defamatory words against him.
According to the court papers, the written press statement issued by Musa was captioned “JTF Arrests Boko-Haram Commander in Senators House”.
It added that JTF in the statement claimed that the high profile member of Boko-Haram, Shuaibu Bama, was arrested in the house of a serving senator along Damboa Road, GRA, Maidiguri.
Zannah said the statement ordinarily meant that he had harboured a wanted Boko-Haram terror suspect in his house, thereby suggesting that he is a supporter of the terrorist group.
He said the publication was a calculated move meant to disparage him before the general public.
Olagundoye claimed that Zannah had “suffered considerable distress, mental trauma, shock and embarrassment, as well as loss and damages.”

18 Arrests Made Over Killing Of 4 UNIPORT Students

Ibim Semenitari is the Rivers State Commissioner for Information
I can confirm to you guys that the Chief of Aluu community has been arrested and is in police custody. Some people I have been in touch with got the info from the Rivers State Commissioner of Police. There are also reports that at least 12 others have been arrested and more arrests will be made in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the deputy registrar of University of Port Harcourt, Williams Modi, said the school will issue a statement once they get all the facts - I.e, the true identities of the victims and what actually transpired on the day of the reported incident.

Also, I heard that residents of the community have started fleeing the area to avoid being arrested. Please continue...

Before I broke the story on Friday, I spoke with three different UNIPORT students, one of them my cousin (he was the one who sent the story to me) and they all said the same thing. That the Aluu community said they killed these boys because they stole. I asked the students what the victims supposedly stole, and they said - the people who killed them said they stole phones and laptops. That was why I made that my headline...

But since then, we've heard different versions of what happened on that early Friday morning...different versions! Below is another one...which suggests the boys didn't steal the phones and laptop but took it by force...

At this point, I really don't care what these boys did. Not that I condone any form of crime, but there's no excuse for what the Aluu community did to these boys. No excuse! Even people that have been prosecuted for a crime and condemned to die are shown some kind of respect. These boys were treated like animals. Maybe even worse. Animals we kill for consumption are not treated like this. So we must all rise and condemn this act. This is the land that will be home to our children and children's children.

The right to life is a fundamental right!
