While sorting out Oscar Pistorius' bail conditions, a South African judge made a rather shocking announcement in court on Thursday (March 28).
The Olympian learned that he is cleared to travel outside of the country to international track meets in order to generate a steady income.
According to a report from The Telegraph, Judge Bert Bam granted
Oscar permission to leave South Africa under specific work-related
conditions. The 26-year-old must alert authorities before he plans a
trip and return his passport within 24 hours of his arrival back to his
home country.
“I find no reason why the applicant should be forbidden from leaving the Republic of South Africa if he's invited to compete in athletic events in other countries," Bam explained.
Pistourious’ lawyer claimed that the athlete did not have specific requests to immediately begin competition, but it is “his only source of income."
Oscar was released on $113,000 bail after being charged with the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. The next hearing in his case is set for June 4.
