After supporting fellow Team USA alum Shawn Johnson in her "Dancing with the Stars" freestyle routine, McKayla Maroney and Gabrielle Douglas have caught the dancing bug.
Both young gymnasts expressed a desire to join the competition themselves. McKayla exclaimed, " I definitely would [do DWTS]! It would just be an amazing experience" with Gabby adding, "Definitely. I love the dynamic and being paired with a partner, having so much fun behind the scenes and backstage . . . so why not?"
As for their performance on Monday's show, Shawn Johnson had some advice for the gals. According to Gabby, "She just told us to have fun and enjoy it because not too many teenagers get the opportunity to do this, so you might as well just soak it up. You might as well just go out there and put on the best show possible."
Though both activities can be stressful, McKayla explains that DWTS is "so much different than what we're used to, because we're used to competing for ourselves. Now we're under the pressure of trying to do really well for Shawn and Derek [Hough] because we're rooting for them and want them to win! We were all really nervous, but we held it together and got a perfect 10."
