Play by Play Alcoyano 1-4 Real Madrid: Benzema nets double as Mourinho's men collect commanding first-leg lead

… - It is all over in Spain and Real Madrid have won out 4-1 winners over Alcoyano, though it was not quite as comfortable as the scoreline suggests. Two clinical finishes from Benzema, as well as goals from Kaka and Jose Rodriguez, secured the win for Jose Mourinho's side who take a commanding lead into next month's second leg.
90′ + 2 - The full-time whistle goes!
90′ - Just two minutes of added time to be played here.
88′ - Goal - Karim Benzema (Real Madrid CF) GOOOOAAALL!! Benzema nets his second of the night! The striker plays a great one-two with Kaka and has acres of space to slot home a simple finish past Alba.
87′ - Madrid are happy to just ride the remainder of this one out now and will look to pick apart their hosts on the break.
84′ - Los Blancos break but as Kaka tries to thread a pass through to Benzema the assistant referee raises his flag to signal that the Frenchman was offside.
82′ - Madrid's defence are all over the place at the moment. They need to get the ball down and take the sting out of the game now. Alcoyano have grown in confidence from their goal and are eager to get another.
79′ - It cannot be said that Alcoyano have not been good value for that goal. They have won countless free kicks and corners but up til then had failed to make them count. It could well be a panicky close to this one for Jose Mourinho's side now.
77′ - Goal - Javi Lara (CD Alcoyano) GOOOAAAL!! No more than he deserves, Javi Lara scores a spectacular goal. From the corner of the box he bends in a beautiful effort that beats Adan at the near post to get the crowd off their feet. The best goal of the night.
75′ - SO CLOSE!! A cross from the left is poorly dealt with by Adan and it falls to Remon at the back post. He shoots immediately at goal but a deflection off of Raul Albiol diverts his effort over the bar. That is the closest Alcoyano have come to getting that elusive goal.
73′ - Good save from Adan! Torres dribbles into the area and rifles an effort at the Madrid goal. He keeps it low but once again fails to find the corner, making it fairly straightforward for the keeper.
71′ - Substitution Ferrán Devesa (CD Alcoyano)
70′ - Real Madrid have shown how clinical finishing can be all you need to for victory tonight. They almost make it four as Benzema dribbles into the area but sees his shot saved by the keeper. The rebound almost falls to Callejon but Pereira shields it away from the forward.
67′ - Goal - Jose Rodriguez (Real Madrid CF) GOOOAAL!! That is what you get for not taking your chances! Madrid make it three and it comes courtesy of Jose Rodriguez. Benzema does brilliantly to poke the ball to the substitute who is left-of-centre inside the area. He strikes it first time and bends a great effort into the corner, despite a touch from Alba.
66′ - And yet another opportunity goes begging! Again it is a delivery from Javi Lara that causes the trouble. Javi Selvas flicks it on at the near post but Remon, charging in at the back post, is too late to make a connection with the ball from inside the six-yard box. Agonising.
63′ - And another for Alcoyano! The hosts break down the lift and have men over in the area. A cross is sent towards the back post for an unmarked Omar. There is too much on it for the substitute though and he fails to generate enough power on his header to test Adan.
62′ - GOOD CHANCE!! Pierda picks up the ball on the right and dribbles diagonally in field. He is not closed down and manages to get a shot away from the top of the box. He fails to find a corner though and drills his effort straight at Adan.
60′ - Substitution Michael Essien Luka Modric (Real Madrid CF)
59′ - Thank you all for your comments on Twitter. If @Vichu_Rex and @Smileylomo are to be correct with their 5-0 predictions, we are going to need another three goals this half! Do you think Luka Modric will help create the chances for such a scoreline?
57′ - Substitution Julio de Dios Omar (CD Alcoyano)
57′ - The game has certainly hit a bit of a lull now. Madrid do not have the same urgency to attack as in the first half thanks to their two-goal cushion and it is making this a bit of a stale affair. Looks as though Luka Modric may enter the fray soon in an attempt to carve apart the Alcoyano defence.
54′ - The second half has begun similarly to the first: with Real Madrid under large amounts of pressure. A Javi Lara free kick is headed behind and from the subsequent corner, Lara plays it short. He finds Remon in space but the captain's effort is blocked en route to goal.
52′ - Once again the delivery fails to find a blue-and-white shirt and Adan clears the danger away with a firm punch. Alcoyano really should be giving it their all to get on the end of opportunities like that.
51′ - Alcoyano win yet another free kick and they will push numbers forward to try and make the most of this.
48′ - Kaka opens his stride up down the left but Pereira does well to pick his time to make the challenge. Just as the Brazilian puts in a heavy touch he lunges in and comes away with the ball. Good defending.
47′ - Why didn't he pull the trigger earlier!? An early free kick for the hosts is pumped into the area and after a bit of pinball, the ball falls to substitute Pierda in the area. He opts to take a touch but cannot wrap his foot around the ball with his second to divert it on target.
46′ - Substitution J. Mosquera Fran Piera (CD Alcoyano)
46′ - Substitution Alex Jose Rodriguez (Real Madrid CF)
46′ - We are back under way in Alcoyano. Real Madrid currently sitting pretty with a 2-0 lead over the hosts.
… - Welcome back. The second half is just a few moments away and Mourinho looks set to bring on Jose Rodriguez.
… - It is half time and Real Madrid lead Alcoyano 2-0 in eastern Spain. Despite a positive start from the hosts, goals from Benzema and Kaka take Los Blancos into the break with a comfortable lead. You can tweet your thoughts and predictions to me at @thwebber. Join me in 15 minutes for the second half.
45′ + 1 - Good strike! An ambitious effort from a free kick by Kaka looks to be dipping in at the far post. The keeper backpedals but is happy to leave it as it drops on the roof of the net.
45′ - Just one minute of added time to be played.
43′ - Yet another dead-ball delivery from Javi Lara goes into the area for the hosts but Essien gets his head on it. The midfielder has certainly been Alcoyano's best player so far but he has been nullified after an impressive opening few minutes.
42′ - Yellow Card - Alex (Real Madrid CF)
42′ - Javi Lara sends it deep it Torres on the lift and he kills the ball with his first touch. He looks up, tries to pick out a team-mate, but his cross is headed away by Varane. The Frenchman is certainly looking more at ease now.
42′ - A clumsy challenge from Alex offers Alcoyano a chance to get the ball in the box once again from a free kick. These are the chances they will need to take...
41′ - Some good defending from Nacho has he shepherds the ball out of play with Mosquera close behind him. The young left-back has looked pretty solid so far tonight.
39′ - Good hands from Adan. Another routine save for the keeper as De Dios catches a volley well from 25 yards. He keeps his effort down but it flies straight down the middle and the keeper holds it cleanly.
37′ - Once again it is poor defending from the hosts that makes it so easy for Madrid to net their second of the night. Mourinho will be feeling much less anxious than he would have been after the opening five minutes. He still has Gonzalo Higuain, Angel di Maria and Luka Modric available on the bench.
35′ - Goal - Kaká (Real Madrid CF) GOOOAAALL!! Kaka makes it 2-0! A wonderful strike from the majestic Brazilian as he saunters towards the box, unchallenged by Cesar Remon. From 20 yards out he thumps a low shot towards the bottom corner and Unai Alba cannot reach it as it nestles in the corner.
32′ - Morata gets the ball in the back of the net but it is disallowed. The young forward was adjudged to be offside from Kaka's through-ball and it looks to be the correct decision. Certainly signs of defensive frailty in the Alcoyano ranks.
30′ - The atmosphere in the stadium has been sapped by Benzema's strike. There is not quite as much noise around the ground and the hosts are suffering because of it.
28′ - Los Blancos are certainly starting to click now. The hosts are being pushed back into their own half and do not appear to be liking it. Now they are on the back foot all they can resort to is the long ball.
26′ - Kaka almost makes it through! The Brazilian picks up on the ball and wriggles his way forward. He has just one more man to beat, Pereira, but the defender sticks out a leg and manages to win possession cleanly.
23′ - A good response from Alcoyano as they refuse to let that goal put them down. A lofted ball into the area finds Mosquera lurking at the back post but Adan rises up and plucks it out of the sky.
21′ - Goal - Karim Benzema (Real Madrid CF) GOOOAAL!! Well just as I say it has not been working up top, Real Madrid take the lead. Two defensive errors as Javi Selvas and Arkaitz fail to get a solid header on the ball enable Benzema to sneak in ahead of the keeper and nod into the net.
20′ - There is very little happening up top for Los Blancos at the moment. Benzema has received little service and Kaka has seen the space in which he can move tightly restricted. How long can the hosts keep the reigning Liga champions at bay though?
18′ - The crowd are unhappy that the referee refused to give a free kick after Mosquera went down in the Real Madrid half. There did not look to be much in it though. The Venezuelan knew the ball had gotten away from him and fell to ground with minimal contact.
16′ - What a waste. Javi Lara beats Morata to the ball and the Real Madrid man steps on his foot. The midfielder goes down theatrically but wins the free kick. The hosts send it long but fail to find a blue-and-white shirt.
14′ - It has been a shaky start for Varane. After receiving the ball on the half-way line, he hesitates in possession and is closed down. It goes out for an Alcoyano throw and they send it long. Torres is unable to bring it under and the chance vanishes.
11′ - Yellow Card - Raphaël Varane (Real Madrid CF)
11′ - Varane picks up the match's first yellow card as he leaves an elbow in on Torres. It looked fairly accidental but nevertheless, Alcoyano now have a free kick in a dangerous area.
9′ - De Dios gives away a free kick on the edge of the Blancos box which relieves some pressure on the defenders. They push on but Alcoyano are pressing well and closing down the space effectively. Looks likes it has been a bit of a shock for Mourinho's men.
7′ - An estimated 7000 fans have flocked to El Collao stadium tonight, and given the start of the hosts, they will be hopeful of a decent result. Real Madrid are yet to really get on the ball outside of their own half.
5′ - This has been a fantastic start from Alcoyano! Javi Lara, who was begun well, flights in an in-swinging cross to the far post. It would have offered his team-mate a tap in but Nacho manages to get a foot on it and clear away for yet another corner.
4′ - Ferran does well to push on down the left flank and Albiol offers him too much space. He whips a cross into the middle and Adan dives out to punch it away. He connects, somewhat unorthodoxly, and only manages to divert the ball behind for a corner.
3′ - Nacho sprays a long ball forward from the left-back position, searching out Benzema, but the ball is intercepted. Lara picks it up and shows some quick feet to wriggle away from a number of white shirts before moving the ball on, much to the joy of the home fans.
1′ - We are underway and Alcoyano almost break through immediately after a complacent touch from Varane. He manages to recover though and clear the ball away.
… - Only a few moments left to go until kick off now. This should be a very interesting fixture as it offers a few of Jose Mourinho's current second-string the chance to stake a claim for a chance in the first XI.
… - Alcoyano: Unai Alba; Arkaitz, Selvas, Pereira, Alcantara; Javi Lara, Ferran, Mosquera, Remon, Torres; De Dios.
… - Lets have a look the line-ups for this one, starting with Real Madrid: Adan; Varane, Albiol, Carvalho, Nacho; Essien, Alex; Callejon, Kaka, Morata; Benzema.
… - The reigning Liga champions' opponents tonight, who are from the third tier of Spanish football, are currently in great form. They come into this fixture on the back of no less than six consecutive triumphs.
… - Hello and welcome to Goal.com's LIVE commentary on tonight's Copa del Rey fixture between Alcoyano and Real Madrid. Jose Mourinho has opted to rest a number of first team players, but star names such as Kaka and Karim Benzema are among the starting XI.
