Latest Scores
Paris Saint-Germain 2 vs 0 Olympique de Marseille - Played
… - Winners in 2010, 2011 and 2012 - Marseille suffer their first CDL defeat since 2008, as PSG ease into the last eight. It was a tough night, made harder by Rod Fanni's wrongful dismissal. But OM will fight on one less front for the rest of the season. PSG never broke sweat, as they march on. That's it from me, good night!
90′ + 3 - FT: PSG 2-0 Marseille - the holders are OUT.
90′ + 2 - Last Marseille chance from a free-kick, just outside the area. Cheyrou whips it in, but Bodmer holds sway and hoofs the ball away.. Luyindula breaks free, finding Tiene - but he's flagged offside.
90′ + 1 - Into three added minutes at the Parc des Princes, but crucially, this was over almost an hour ago.
89′ - And that free-kick materializes into nothing serious, meaning Nicholas Douchez could well end the night without making a proper save. Offensively, OM have offered little.
88′ - Cheyrou becoming much more lively in the closing stages, as Marseille look to bow out with some dignity. Morel fouled on the far side by Pastore.
87′ - CHEYROU! OFF THE POST! Low free-kick under the wall deceives the goalkeeperand smashes against the post before being cleared. A massive chance gone.
86′ - Free-kick to Marseille, 29 metres from goal. Make this one count, and we'll be set up for a grandstand finish. Cheyrou to take it, and we have a little more than five minutes to go.
85′ - Valbuena looks on with a shake of the head, as the corner is delivered, and almost deflects off Bodmer and into the net - but Douchez holds the ball well.
84′ - Substitution Mathieu Valbuena Florian Raspentino (Olympique de Marseille)
84′ - Marseille substitution - Mathieu Valbuena is substituted for Florian Raspentino.
82′ - Yellow Card - Jordan Ayew (Olympique de Marseille)
82′ - The chants of 'OLE' from the PSG fans continue - it can't get any better for them really. Jordan Ayew is the cause for the celebration, he is booked for an aerial challenge on Thiago Silva.
80′ - Ten minutes plus stoppage time to go in Paris, and it appears that Marseille have almost just given up really. PSG passing the time with consummate ease as Luyindula is flagged for a foul on N'Koulou.
79′ - Substitution Jérémy Menez Péguy Luyindula Makanda (Paris Saint-Germain)
79′ - Substitution Blaise Matuidi Siaka Tiéné (Paris Saint-Germain)
79′ - Double change from the hosts - Siaka Tiene and forgotten man Peguy Luyindula come on for Blaise Matuidi and goalscorer Jeremy Menez.
77′ - Oh, Cheyrou! Great block by Matuidi as Marseille are set to bow out of the Coupe de la Ligue. Fantastic cross once more, and the midfielder is unable to get away from his marker, and fire a shot towards the goalkeeper.
75′ - And the meek Marseille showing continues, as Jordan Ayew - struggling for options - fires low and hard about three meters wide of goal. No harm at all towards Douchez. Quarter of an hour left.
74′ - Kabore sends a heavy tackle Menez's way, and a free-kick is awarded to PSG, about 25 metres from goal. Maxwell to take, and it's over everyone and out for a throw-in.
72′ - Substitution Loïc Remy Rafidine Abdullah (Olympique de Marseille)
72′ - Substitution - a sign of defeat? Loic Remy comes off for Rafidine Abdullah. Leaving Jordan Ayew, as the only recognised forward up there.
71′ - RABIOT! Narrowly wide. More carnage in the Marseille box, as Pastore's effort is somewhat heroically blocked by Valbuena, before Rabiot dinks in from almost nowhere to fire in a low shot just to the right of Mandanda's post. The onslaught continues.
70′ - Twenty minutes - and Marseille need two goals. Number 13 is about to come on - Rafidine Abdullah, to stir a comeback. The spirit of Dortmund, some may say. Can it be done?
69′ - HOARAU! PSG knocking on the door, as substitute Adrien Rabiot whips in a threatening cross. Hoarau gets in behind from N'Koulou and heads over the bar. The PSG goalkeeper has done next to nothing in this game.
68′ - MENEZ! ALMOST 3-0! The ex-Roma winger races down on Mandanda's goal, and almost diverts past the goalkeeper, before Abdallah races back in time to clear off the line! The chip just needed a little power. Fantastic pass from Pastore to find the winger, with Hoarau providing a decoy run. Where were the defenders?!
66′ - Substitution André Ayew Jordan Ayew (Olympique de Marseille)
65′ - Substitution for PSG: It's Andre Ayew off for brother Jordan Ayew.
64′ - Free-kick to Marseille, as Valbuena delivers in a dipping cross from the left, and it's headed woefully over the bar by Kassim Abdallah, as the Comoros native fails to seriously impact on Nicholas Douchez.
63′ - It's actually so comfortable for the Parisian side at the moment, as they gently knock the ball around unopposed through the entire length of the field, until Mandanda catches from a cross.
62′ - Substitution Mohamed Lamine Sissoko Adrien Rabiot (Paris Saint-Germain)
61′ - Bit of activity on the PSG bench, and it appears that Mohamed Sissoko will come off. 28 minutes left for OM to mount a comeback.
60′ - Menez and Maxwell are contemplating who will take the set-piece, in the end it doesn't matter as Mandanda takes possession of the ball. The visitors are lacking urgency at the mintue. Their last CDL defeat came in 2008!
59′ - Yellow Card - Jérémy Menez (Paris Saint-Germain)
59′ - Poor passing hurting L'OM at the minute, as Kabore is reprimanded for a late challenge on Menez. Free-kick to PSG, in a threatening position.
57′ - Remy dribbles past Jallet, but eventually runs the ball out of play as Amalfitano slips attempting a volley. Chants of 'OLE' from the home fans, who are clearly reveling at their team's lead of their arch-rivals.
54′ - The menacing Menez is causing more havoc, as he unsuccessfully attempts to get pas Nicolas N'Koulou. The Parisian side are aiming for a quarter-final place for the first time in 2 years.
52′ - Mathieu Valbuena makes headway down the right hand side, and at one point, it appeared to be a four against three situation. He opts for the early cross towards Ayew on the other flank, and it's gone out for a throw-in. Very poor.
51′ - Cheyrou ticked off for a poor challenge on Menez. One foul away from a possible sending off. Already on a booking remember.
50′ - Goal - Jérémy Menez (Paris Saint-Germain) GOOAALL!! PSG MAKE IT 2-0! It's Menez who latches onto a fine pass, past Abdallah and unleashes an UNSTOPPABLE shot past Mandanda. The holders are really looking down and out.
49′ - Marseille's numerical disadvantage shows as a switch-ball from Jallet to Menez narrowly goes out, but the space that was afforded to them was surprising slightly.
49′ - PASTORE! Oh, how he could use a goal right now. It was very close too. N'Koulou is caught by the Argentine who usurpes his position, and fires a shot on the edge of the area. It grazes the top of the crossbar and goes out. Open, open, open!
48′ - AYEW! Oh, how close was that?! Remy finds Abdallah, whose cross is whipped in from the right, and met by the head of the Ghana international who heads just wide.
47′ - And it's Marseille who have started the brighter as Remy comes into the fore. A deep cross in is hurriedly blocked by the defender, but they do mean business!
45′ - UNDERWAY IN THE SECOND HALF! Ten-man Marseille begin proceedings, and their Coupe de la Ligue crown is slipping. Massive 45 minutes (or more) in prospect.
… - So, what can OM do to plough on in this second half? Or will PSG remain in complete control? Send me your tweets via @mohammedali_93.
… - Looking over the half-time replay, it appears that Hoarau had handballed just before being pulled by Fanni - also, just outside the box. It could've been a free-kick given to OM, a free-kick outside the box for PSG, and yet Marseille are down to ten. In any case, the 'foul' happened outside the area. Strange one that, but the debate will rage on.
… - Half-time in Paris, and holders Marseille face an uphill struggle to make the last eight for the fourth year in a row. Rod Fanni's red card - a controversial decision, but he was the last man - means PSG take a first period lead thanks to Silva's penalty.
45′ + 1 - HALF-TIME: Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 Olympique de Marseille (Thiago SIlva pen' 29)
45′ - It's not a good delivery, as Camara clears, and the visitors are unable to drift the ball back into the danger zone. That should be that for the first half.
44′ - Abdallah again makes progress, but cannot get past Thiago Silva. Valbuena wins the corner off Maxwell. Is there late first-half drama to come? Cheyrou to take.
42′ - CHEYROU! Good shot, curling low attempt which Douchez catches - but only at the second attempt. More of the same needed from the visitors, who have been successfully kept at arm's length for much of this first half.
41′ - Pastore feeds Sissoko on the right, and after finding Jallet, the first-time ball into the box is a poor attempt. Hurriedly cleared away by Kabore, who will now offer more defensive assistance to the depleted rearguard.
39′ - Abdallah easily dispossessed by Pastore, but it takes N'Koulou to regain the ball and start another Marseille move. It looks to be a 3-4-2 formation that ten-man OM are going for at the moment. Lot more work for Ayew and Valbuena.
38′ - Elie Baup looks on with his lips pursed, as Hoarau goes forward once more in search of a goal. Mandanda collects on the edge of the area.
36′ - Marseille are not given a corner, as Maxwell deflects a ball away from Valbuena - leaving 'Le Petit Velo' to tell referee Anthony Gautier exactly what he thinks of him. Just not going to be their night.....
35′ - Ouch! Matuidi gets a load of the ball in his face as he challenges with Abdallah. Marseille nowhere near offering a threat at the minute. The 10-men are being well marshalled.
34′ - Poor Jallet, who is being scythed down by the opposition. First, Cheyrou got a booking for a crude challenge on the captain, and Morel repeats the trick too. Late challenge - it's a yellow
33′ - Yellow Card - Jérémy Morel (Olympique de Marseille)
32′ - Elsewhere in France - 2012 finalists Lyon are OUT of the cup, after being beaten by Nice. Montpellier sneak into the quarters, beating Bordeaux 1-0. Yesterday, Lille beat Toulouse in extra-time.
30′ - Amid the chaos, Andre Ayew races forward to try and restore parity, but his path is blocked by the defender. L'OM have a huge task on their hand now. Can they do the impossible?
29′ - Penalty Goal - Thiago Silva (Paris Saint-Germain) Penalty it is - and it's Thiago Silva who steps up - AND SCORES! PSG TAKE THE LEAD! The debate will continue, but the holders are losing 1-0 in the Parc des Princes.
29′ - The entire landscape of this match has changed as holders Marseille are looking towards their first Coupe de la Ligue defeat since 2008. Elie Baup's men to play more than an hour with 10 men.
27′ - Red Card - Rod Fanni (Olympique de Marseille) PENALTY TO PSG - RED CARD FOR ROD FANNI!
27′ - Unbelievable events unfolding. Hoarau races into the penalty box, initially looking to have handballed, with Fanni touching him to the ground. The referee has given the penalty, and it's a STRAIGHT RED card for the Marseille defender.
26′ - No, is the answer. The cross is initially headed away by Camara and diverted back into the box twice, before being cleared once more.
25′ - Cheyrou comes forward, and opts for a pass towards Ayew. Birthday boy Jallet deflects the Ghanaian's speculative cross, and the visitors have a corner. Can they make it count?
24′ - MENEZ! Not bad, not bad at all. Marseille show their wing-play vulnerabilities once more as the dazzling Menez cuts in between on the left, and fire a driving shot which flashes wide at the far post.
23′ - Risky play from Mandanda, as N'Koulou is forced all the way back and the captain decides to dummy his way past Hoarau, and find Fanni. Crazy goalkeepers, eh?
21′ - VALBUENA! CLOSE! Marseille almost sneak into the lead, as they begin to make forays into the opposition half. Abdallah holds off Maxwell to cross in, and after Valbuena takes possession, Ayew makes a decoy run. Instead, the diminutive winger goes for the curling shot, and it jumps narrowly past the post.
20′ - Nervy moment for PSG as Thiago Silva is caught in possession, and it requires Amalfitano to take advantage, but he is crowded out with Valbuena unable to find a team-mate in the end.
18′ - The PSG fans incredulous at that miss, as they attempt to further create more chances. Marseille really need to buck up their ideas at the minute, or risk going behind.
17′ - BODMER! OH MY WHAT A MISS! Massive howler as Paris Saint-Germain fail to impact on their superiority at the minute as he skies from two yards. Unbelievable. Fantastic cross it was, headed down by Pastore as Bodmer totally flops in the end.
16′ - Amalfitano urges focus, as he chases down Maxwell on the left. Hoarau chips to Menez, but Morel gets there first by fouling the number seven. It looked like a bit of a dive there. Free-kick PSG.
14′ - Marseille, if you remember have the advantage as their game at the weekend was postponed, but yet, they look more sluggish in the opening quarter of an hour as Kabore's intended pass towards Amalfitano flies out for a throw-in.
13′ - Valbuena surges forward through the middle about 20 yards out, and finds Amalfitano to his right. Whether it was intended as a cross or a shot we'll never know as the ball harmlessly goes out for a goal-kick.
11′ - Atmosphere building, as Marseille continue to protect their goal in the Coupe de la Ligue clash. Kabore gets into the action, asserting his authority in midfield.
9′ - Pastore races clear on the right side, and is kept in check by Jeremy Morel on the wing. Marseille offering a little threat up front, but no way near the crazy start experienced in the Ligue 1 clash earlier in October.
8′ - Mandanda looking a little bit suspect at the back, as he fails to adequately prepare his defence in the face of a PSG onslaught.
6′ - Pastore and Menez combined, finding Sissoko, and his cross is punched out by Mandanda. All the early pressure coming from the hosts at the minute.
5′ - The camera pans to the VIP box in the Parc des Princes, whee a very tentative Leonardo sits with LFP president Frederic Thiriez and former Marseille boss and France coach Didier Deschamps - who led Marseille to triumphs in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
4′ - Yellow Card - Benoît Cheyrou (Olympique de Marseille)
4′ - Maxwell on the left gets into a good position, cutting back for Pastore, whose tame effort is easily caught by Mandanda. It's all the hosts so far in the capital. Valbuena runs the ball out of play on the far side meanwhile.
3′ - Cheyrou hacks down Jallet early on, bringing a howl of disapproval from the stands. Indeed, the referee thinks the same too, and we have our first yellow card of this cup clash.
3′ - PSG bomb down the left with Menez, before Abdallah races to his side's rescue. Bodmer sprays a pass towards Jallet, who in turn feeds Pastore. The pass is slightly overhit, and Mandanda collects.
2′ - Cagey opening from the hosts, who have made quite a few changes. It's also PSG captain Christophe Jallet's birthday, he gets away a pass on the right.
1′ - AWAY WE GO! In this round of 16 clash, it's PSG who get us started, attacking from left to right - Pastore and Menez on the kick-off.
… - Tonight's referee is Antony Gautier.
… - The teams emerge from the dressing room and onto the pitch in Paris - kick-off imminent.
… - TEAM NEWS: Sadly, no Zlatan Ibrahimovic at all this evening. The big Swede doesn't even make the bench as Carlo Ancelotti rests him ahead of the Ligue 1 clash against Saint-Etienne on Saturday. Guillaume Hoarau makes his first start since March, ahead of Kevin Gameiro. Mamadou Sakho makes way for Zoumana Camara, with Christophe Jallet preferred to Gregory Van der Wiel. A host of changes, but none for Marseille who field their strongest possible side.
… - PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN: Douchez; Jallet (c), Camara, Thiago Silva, Maxwell; Matuidi, Sissoko, Bodmer; Pastore, Menez; Hoarau
… - OLYMPIQUE DE MARSEILLE: Mandanda (c) ; Abdallah, N'Koulou, Fanni, Morel; Kabore, Cheyrou; Amalfitano, Andre Ayew, Valbuena; Remy
