Bullied Student, 15, Jumps In Front Of Train While Classmates Watch

Felicia Garcia, 15, was driven to suicide after a group of classmates relentlessly tormented her over her sexual encounters at a high school party. The tragic death came just days after she posted a cry for help on Twitter.
Felicia Garcia, 15, was so fed up by being bullied and harassed at school, she threw herself in front of an oncoming train after school at Huguenot Staten Island Railway on Oct. 24 — while horrified classmates watched.

Just days before, Felicia tweeted a photo of her face bloodied and bruised, with the caption, "I can't. I'm done. I give up," on Oct. 22.

Felicia was reportedly being tormented by a group of Tottenville High School football players who bragged about their sexual encounters with the freshman girl.

"Kids are saying she had sex with some guys from the football team at a party after the game," a friend who wished to remain anonymous said told the New York Daily News. "Later on, they wouldn't leave her alone about it. They just kept bullying her and bullying her."

Earlier on Oct. 24, school officials held a mediation session with Felicia and one of the 17-year-old boys after they heard of the reported bullying. The older student denied any involvement.

Felicia ran into another of the older boys after leaving the office and exchanged words — and later that day, the troubled 15-year-old killed herself in front of a group of classmates. Sources say Felicia's life was already marked by tragedy. She was living with a foster family, including a chronic runaway.

Police are now investigating the tragic suicide, and are questioning students involved in harassing her, as well as combing through her social media accounts for clues.

What a tragic story. Our thoughts are with Felicia's family.
