The Voice’ Recap: Terisa Griffin Stuns The Coaches With Her Adele Audition

Week three of 'The Voice' kicked off, continuing the blind auditions. Terisa knocked the socks off the coaches! Did she knock your socks off, too?
Welcome, fans of The Voice, to week three of blind auditions! It was a night with some serious highlights, including Terisa Griffin. We started the night with coaches Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera each with 11 members on their team, Cee Lo Green with 10 and Blake Shelton with a measly seven!

Standout Auditions
Though Terisa closed the show, we've got to talk about her first because she was outstanding. The sassy middle-aged diva shook the house with an expert performance of Adele's "Someone Like You." She is, hands-down, my frontrunner for the season, so far. Shockingly, only Blake and Christina turned their chairs, with Christina turning at Blake's insistence. It's this bit of info that leads Terisa to align herself with Blake. Hopefully he knows what to do with this powerhouse voice!

Another shining light of the episode was the first audition, Michelle Brooke-Thompson. The 28-year-old brought some major heat with a rousing rendition of Ike & Tina Turner's "Proud Mary." Oh boy, when the song erupted into the quick-tempo second half, Michelle blew me away. She blew Adam, Cee Lo, and X-Tina away, too. Michelle eventually chose Adam to be her coach.

Another personal standout was adorable music teacher Suzanna Choffel. Suzanna brought out her guitar and sang one of my favorite songs ever, "Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac. She brought a very Stevie Nicks-esque performance, though she didn't straight copy Stevie's voice and style. It was such a great performance. Coach Blake has something special on his hands here.

What About The Rest?
Beyond Michelle, Team Adam added Sam James and Brandon Mahone to his team. We only got to see Sam briefly as he sang John Lennon's "Imagine." It was brief, but it sounded good. I'm excited to see more from him. Brandon sang "I Wish It Would Rain" by The Temptations. He was quite good for his 17 years.

Team Cee Lo added Diego Val and Alexis Marceaux to its ranks. Cutie Diego, from Peru, sang Neon Trees' "Animal," while he accompanied himself on his guitar. He had quite a cool rasp to his voice and the crowd loved him. Alexis, who lost her home to Hurricane Katrina, had such a clean and clear tone to her voice on the second Fleetwood Mac song of the night, "Go Your Own Way." She is another one to watch.

As if it wasn't enough that he got Terisa and Suzanna, Blake added Michaela Paige, Ryan Jirovec, and Leila Broussard to his team. Sadly, we saw a total of 30 seconds of these three, so there isn't much to say.

Team X-Tina landed Dez Duron, Laura Vivas, and Jordan Pruitt tonight. Dez is totally cute and sounded really great on Hall & Oates' "Sara Smile." The girls are going to love him. We caught a brief glimpse of Laura singing Adam Lambert's "What Do You Want From Me" and I'm excited to see more. Former Disney recording star Jordan sang Katy Perry's "The One That Got Away." Christina was the only one who turned, so Jordan was lucky that her song wasn't a prophecy. Also, she wasn't that great.

What did you think of tonight's episode, HollywoodLifers? Who was your favorite? Are you loving this season so far? And, most importantly, are you growing tired of the auditions, like I am? Bring on the battle rounds, I say!
