Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes Are Talking For Suri’s Sake

More than a month after Tom and Katie’s surprise split, the two remain on good terms for their daughter. Read on for more details.
The news of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes‘ divorce shook the entertainment world, but so far the two remain amicable. Although the famous exes haven’t spent time together since their split, they have worked out a routine that works best for them and Suri Cruise, according to a source.

Tom and Katie “are talking,” the source told PEOPLE. “They are both going to do what’s best for Suri.”

That includes working out a fliud schedule for handing off their 6-year-old daughter, since their home bases are on opposite ends of the country.

Suri has been spending most of her summer venturing around New York with her mom, and taking vacations with her dad to the Hamptons and Disney World.

When Suri starts school in September, New York will become more permanent with less time for vacations with her dad. She had been home schooled before due to her parents’ crazy travel schedules, but Katie wanted her daughter ”to have that sort of stability and consistency in her life,” another source told PEOPLE. Tom apparently is OK with that.
