New York City was rocked on August 13 by Robert Pattinson‘s first public appearances since Kristen Stewart was caught cheating. But Rob thinks that his Daily Show interview and Cosmopolis red carpet appearance were amazing!

“Rob thought it was going to go a lot worse than originally expected, both on the red carpet and with Jon Stewart,” our source said. “He felt that Jon was the ‘epitome of class’ in how he dealt with the interview, and everything else on the red carpet was very controlled to his liking. He is still very anxious for his other interviews but believes the hard part is done — that was getting out there yesterday for the first time to face the crowds and media. He is aware that he will probably be asked the question on Good Morning America point blank and he is ready to take the high road when that happens.
