In May 2011, six Navy SEAL members bursted into Osama bin Laden's Pakistani compound and ended his life , and now one of those men — whose pen name is Mark Owen — has released a tell-all book recounting that historical day. And according to his recollection, Osama was already almost dead when they found him!
The Huffington Post obtained a copy of the tell-all which claims that Osama was already fatally wounded – despite reports claiming the terrorist leader was armed and ready to fight the SEALs.
"We were less than five steps from getting to the top when I heard suppressed shots. BOP. BOP. I couldn't tell from my position if the rounds hit the target or not. The man disappeared into the dark room," Mark writes. "Blood and brains spilled out of the side of his skull," adding that another SEAL ""trained our lasers on his chest and fired several rounds. The bullets tore into him, slamming his body into the floor until he was motionless."
Mark goes on to say that what happened in bin Laden's room essentially went against the orders of their mission.
"I am not going to tell you how to do your job. What we're saying is if he [Osama] does not pose a threat, you will detain him," Mark writes, recounting the instructions they were given.
The book was reportedly slated to hit book stores on September 11, 2012, but now it's scheduled to be released one week in advance.
