Fashionist Sarah Jessica Parker has attended New York's Met gala, admitting on the red carpet it is the most "terrifying" of events due to its status as 'fashion's Oscars'.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Benefit gala is one of the most glamorous red carpets of the year, and holds no bars when it comes to outfits.
Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake, Cate Blanchett and Sarah Jessica Parker were among those to weave through the tented grand Fifth Avenue entrance to celebrate the new fashion exhibit that compares and contrasts the designs of two Italian women: Miuccia Prada and the late Elsa Schiaparelli.
It features over 100 looks from both Prada and Schiaparelli and showcases their similarities.
The night's showstoppers were new mum Beyonce Knowles, who stunned in a barely-there Givenchy dress with black lace and a purple train and Rihanna who wore a black leather gown by Tom Ford.
Sex And The City star Sarah Jessica Parker walked the red carpet with designer Valentino Garavani.
"I think there's something unique about these particular steps. Nothing more terrifying than these particular steps," said Parker.
"But I think there's a focus that's different than a movie premiere. It's about celebrating discipline and skill and celebrating this important museum."
