Torres Leaves QPR Blue

Chelsea 6-1 QPR
Fernando Torres picks up the Man of the Match award after his hat-trick against QPR.
John Terry responded to red card ignominy with a goal and Fernando Torres hit a hat-trick as Chelsea boosted their top-four hopes with a 6-1 thrashing of imperilled QPR.
The Blues skipper began to make up for an errant knee with his well-placed header, while Torres continued his scoring streak to help reel in Newcastle - now just a point away.
The visitors, above the drop thanks only to a freshly-wounded goal difference, hoped midweek exertions would tell but the signs were ominous when Daniel Sturridge found the top corner after just 45 seconds.
Terry rose above Clint Hill to nod in a second (14), turning to the crowd with his hands up in apology, and by the time Torres, with newfound swagger, had struck his first, QPR had still barely been out of their own half.
The Spaniard picked up where he left off in Barcelona, collecting Salomon Kalou's pass and rounding the keeper (19) and then exploited Nedum Onuoha's ill-judged back-pass with a fierce left boot (25).
Jamie Mackie finally made Petr Cech work (55) but attempts to make a go of it left his team-mates exposed and Torres profited from a quick counter, stroking into the corner with composure of old (64).
Djibril Cisse, who had earlier headed over to home taunts, seized a slither of consolation (84) but only after Florent Malouda struck a loose ball for six (80), Mark Hughes grim-faced and unmoved long before then
