Prince Philip Attends New Year's Day Service

Paul Harrison, royal correspondent
The Duke of Edinburgh has appeared with the Royal family for the first time since he was released from hospital.
Prince Philip attended a New Year's Day church service on the Sandringham Estate.
The 90-year-old consort to the Queen walked to the Sunday service at St Mary Magdeleine's Church despite suffering from a blocked coronary artery before Christmas.
He lead the family walk to the church, accompanied by his youngest son Prince Edward.
"He looked really well considering everything he's been through in the past week," visitor Emily Watson told Sky News once the church service was under way.
Another royal watcher said: "He wanted to show everyone he's much better."
The Duke of Edinburgh had been the only key royal to miss out on the traditional Christmas Day service and Boxing Day shoot while he recovered from chest pains at Papworth Hospital in Cambridgeshire.
He spent four nights in hospital and was visited by the Queen, their four children and six grandchildren, including princes William and Harry.
Upon being discharged from hospital the duke thanked the staff for their "excellent" care and wound down his car window to wave to the media as he departed.
The duke's apparent good health and speedy recovery will be welcomed by those organising the Diamond Jubilee celebrations this year.
Prince Philip is set to join the Queen on a number of engagements across the country, spanning five months. His latest health scare looks less likely to place that in jeopardy.
The Queen arrived at the church service by car with the Countess of Wessex.
After the 45-minute service, which she gave a reading at, she received bouquets of flowers by young children waiting outside the church.
Meanwhile, Prince Philip marched on ahead back to the main house at Sandringham
