UK: Lennox Appeals To MPs About HIV Epidemic

Singer Annie Lennox is set to speak at Parliament about tackling the global HIV epidemic as part of World Aids Day.
The former Eurythmics star is a leading campaigner for women's rights and Aids prevention.
Speaking to Sky News' Eamonn Holmes, she said the disease needs to be seen differently by people.
"I think stigma is everywhere and I think that's one of the biggest challenges anyone has to face when it comes to HIV whether it's in a developing country or whether it is here," Lennox said.
"I've met people here who are HIV positive who can't disclose their status because they are too afraid of the impact it will have."
In Westminster, she hopes to use her knowledge as a UN Aids ambassador to call for greater action from governments around the world to try and reduce the number of people infected by the fatal disease.
"At the moment we have had 33 million people die because of Aids," Lennox told Sky.
"The scientific discoveries are proving that we can actually make a huge difference if people can get access to treatment.
