Citizens boss Roberto Mancini is likely to switch Pablo Zabaleta to left-back, with Micah Richards coming in on the right.
Richards has missed the last two games with a calf injury, but the home team have no other problems.
Arsenal have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to the Etihad Stadium.
Full-back Kieran Gibbs is recovering well from his hernia problem, and could feature over the Christmas period but is unlikely to face the Citizens.
Jack Wilshere, Andre Santos, Bacary Sagna, Ryo Miyaichi (all ankle), Carl Jenkinson (back), Lukasz Fabianski (knee), Vito Mannone (shoulder), and Abou Diaby (hamstring) are all absent.
