Pilot Killed In Light Aircraft Collision

One man has been killed in an apparent mid-air collision between two light aircraft in Leicestershire.
After hitting each other, the two planes landed near Gartree Road in Great Stretton, close to Leicester Airport, police said.
A Leicestershire police spokesman said: "One of the aircraft contained one person, a man, who died at the scene.
"The second aircraft contained two men who both received minor injuries."
Part of the area has been closed off to allow emergency services access to the scene.
The road is expected to remain closed overnight and motorists are being advised to seek an alternative route.
