Bruce Axed As Black Cats boss As Villas-Boas Fearing Euro Exit

Steve Bruce has been sacked as Sunderland manager following the club's disappointing start to the season.
Sunderland are sitting just above the Premier League drop-zone and last weekend's defeat by fellow strugglers Wigan prompted the club's board to take action.
Chairman Ellis Short told the club's website: "This has been a difficult time for everyone at Sunderland and is not a situation that any of us envisaged or expected to be in.
"It is my job as chairman to act in the best interests of our football club at all times and I can assure everyone that this is not a decision that I have taken lightly.
"Sadly results this season have simply not been good enough and I feel the time is right to make a change.
"Steve has acted with honesty and integrity throughout, which is testament to the character and commitment he has shown during his time at Sunderland.
"I would like to personally place on record my thanks to him for his significant contribution to our football club over the past two and a half years and everyone here at Sunderland naturally wishes him the very best for the future."
Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas says their Champions League dream will end next week if there is a repeat of the limp display against Liverpool.
The Blues crashed out of the Carling Cup on Tuesday following a 2-0 defeat by Kenny Dalgish's side - their second loss to Liverpool in nine days.
Chelsea, beaten in three of their last four games at Stamford Bridge, host Valencia next Tuesday, knowing a defeat or score draw will send them tumbling out of the competition.
Villas-Boas said: "This standard won't be good enough for the Champions League. We will need to up the tempo and play that game with the ultimate desire."
Chelsea have also slipped out of the top four in the Premier League, with tough games against Newcastle, Manchester City and Tottenham before Christmas.
Villas-Boas added: "For our league challenge to be alive we need to make the most of our December fixtures.
"If we are able to do that we can get it back on track, not that we can't get back on track after. If we do well in December it will have a major impact."
