The popular Nollywood comedian, Babatunde Omidina, a.k.a Baba Suwe, yesterday filed a motion before a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos through his lawyer bamidele Aturu, asking the court to vacate an earlier order empowering the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to detain him for additional 15 days.According to an online publication , the motion brought pursuant to Order 26 Rule 11 of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2009b,contains Baba suwe asking for an order of the court, discharging or vacating the order.
He is also contending that the application on which the order obtained by the NDLEA was based on "grossly irregular and constitutes an incurable abuse of the processes of the court." Baba suwe also insists that the said NDLEA's application was contrary to public policy and constitutes wanton violation of his fundamental rights as protected by the 1999 Constitution. This motion is slated to be heard tomorrow.Also the NDLEA has denied rumours of him excreting 16 wraps of narcotic drugs
