Mitch Winehouse was talking to Sky News as he launched the Amy Winehouse Foundation on what would have been her 28th birthday.

"I don't blame Blake for Amy's death that would be stupid. But from his own lips he said that he introduced Amy to hard drugs and he has to accept responsibility for that."

Mitch added that he believes his daughter died of a seizure brought on by detoxing as she tried to quit alcohol.

"The problem is that she was told not to detox without medical support and she chose to ignore that advice. She had a history of seizures and I believe that because of the detox - that was a contributing factor in her death."

The Back To Black singer died at her home in Camden on July 23.

Tony Bennett said Amy was a "rare talent"

Toxicology reports confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Winehouse's body at the time of her death.

An inquest is set for next month and as her family await further tests they hope it will bring closure on their loss.

"I feel sick about it though but it can't be as bad was what we've been through. And we will finally know what happened and we will be able to rest a little bit easier," said Mitch.

The Amy Winehouse Foundation has been set up in her name to help young addicts and will also offer underprivileged kids scholarships to performing arts schools.

Money from Tony Bennett and Amy's song will go to charity

Mitch told Sky News that he is struggling to come to terms with her death: "The thing that's keeping me going and the family going is that we're working on the foundation but it's heartbreaking and we're all crying lots and laughing lots because we're thinking about all the great things she did."

A new track called Body and Soul which Amy recorded with Tony Bennett will also be released to mark the singer's birthday.

It is the last record Amy made and proceeds from its sale will go to the foundation.

The recording session took place at Abbey Road studios and Tony Bennett said: "We had a beautiful time recording together in the studio and I knew that Amy was very happy with how she performed that day.

"I thought she was absolutely brilliant and this recording truly captures the essence of her unique artistry. She was a rare talent."
