Gucci Mane Released From Jail

Having served nearly three weeks in jail for a probation violation, Gucci Mane was released into the free world on Thursday (May 2).
The "First Day Out" rapper was put behind bars on April 13th after allegedly hitting a clubgoer in the head at an Atlanta nightclub on March 25th.
The incident caused the 33-year-old hip-hop star to be charged with aggravated assault in addition to his probation violation. Gucci will return to court later this month.
That isn't the end of his legal woes, however. The alleged victim in the bottling incident, James Lettley, is suing the rapper. According to Lettley, he was at Harlem Nights Ultra Lounge when he came up to Gucci, telling him he was a soldier and a fan. After asking for a photo, the rapper allegedly nailed him with a bottle.
Denying any wrongdoing, Gucci's attorney Drew Findling stated, "The evidence continues to just be only the victim’s statement. In these days if somebody makes an epically prejudicial statement … or commits a violent act, it’s all over YouTube before you can pronounce YouTube. But nothing surfaced in a week after the incident.”

Le Bonitas sued the socialite for $200,000 for allegedly neglecting to fulfill her obligations and Paris fired back, demanding $1.5 million for the company's lack of promotion.
According to TMZ, the parties have now dismissed their suits, agreeing to a brand new deal and claiming the incident is now just "water under the bridge."

Tim McGraw Sued by Record Label for Copyright Infringement

It seems everyone wants a piece of Tim McGraw, but one recording company doesn't want to share the country crooner.
Curb Records recently filed a lawsuit alleging that the "One of Those Nights" singer and Big Machine Records infringed on its copyright.
Filed in Nashville, Tennessee, the complain claims Curb entered into an exclusive recording contract with the 46-year-old star in 1997 that has not yet expired.
However, on May 21, 2012, Big Machine entered into a recording agreement with the husband of Faith Hill, who recorded twenty songs with them.
Now, Curb is claiming ownership of all of the tunes, becuase they were made during their own contract. According to the suit, "McGraw recorded the Undelivered Masters before the expiration of the term of the Recording Agreement because the fifth Option Period Album has yet to be delivered to Curb Records. Curb Records, therefore, owns, exclusively, the Undelivered Masters, and the copyrights therein."
In addition to ownership of all the masters, the company is asking for punitive and compensatory damages from both Tim and Big Machine Records.

Katy Perry Countersues Hair Care Company for $6.5 Million

After being slapped with a multi-million dollar lawsuit from a hair care company, Katy Perry is fighting back with her own $6.5 million countersuit.
Jemella Group Limited originally sued the "Firework" singer to try to prevent her from suing them. The company was already aware that the 28-year-old songstress was claiming that they had an oral agreement to extend her original written contract.
However, they seemed to have opened the door for the action, as Katy fired back on Monday, alleging that the company "continues to use Perry's name and image on its website to promote its hair care products. ghd has failed to honor its contractual obligations to Perry, yet it continues to benefit from Perry by using her name and image without compensating her."
According to TMZ, Ms. Perry's rep said, "They're backing out of the deal because of an ownership change, and just throwing shade to hide their bad faith."

Chelsea Handler on Reese Witherspoon's Arrest: It's Not a Big Deal

Sorry, but this video cannot be viewed in your location.

She's friends with plenty of Hollywood's leading ladies, so it was no surprise that Chelsea Handler was asked for an update on Reese Witherspoon since her public arrest.
While working the media line at the E! network's annual upfronts event, the comedic funny woman told ET, "She's doing fine. She's doing fine, you know? She's just trying to protect her husband, so ... I mean, everybody makes mistakes so it's not a big deal."
Handler was of course referring to the "Sweet Home Alabama" star's recent run-in with the law last Friday (April 19) when her husband Jim Toth was pulled over for suspicion of driving intoxicated.
As previously reported by GossipCenter, Reese later made a public apology which, in part, read, "Out of respect for the ongoing legal situation, I cannot comment on everything that is being reported right now. But I do want to say, I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said."
