Psy Takes “Gangnam Style” To President Obama

Riding the one-hit-wonder wave for all it’s worth, Psy performed at the “Christmas in Washington” charity concert last night (December 9).
The “Gangnam Style” rapper looked dapper as he busted out his internet hit for the audience, including President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.
Psy has not been immune to controversy though, as his 2004 statements regarding American troops in Iraq recently surfaced, forcing him to issue an apology.
In his performance at an anti-war concert years ago, Psy declared, “Kill those f---ing Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives. Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law and fathers. Kill them all slowly and painfully.”
However, nowadays he says it was all an emotional reaction. "The song I was featured in — from eight years ago — was part of a deeply emotional reaction to the war in Iraq and the killing of two innocent Korean civilians that was part of the overall antiwar sentiment shared by others around the world at that time.”
“While I'm grateful for the freedom to express one's self I've learned there are limits to what language is appropriate and I'm deeply sorry for how these lyrics could be interpreted. I will forever be sorry for any pain I have caused anyone by those words."
Enjoy the pictures from the National Christmas Tree Lighting in Washington, D.C. (December 6).
