Thanksgiving Box Office: "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" Gobbles Up the Competition

Continuing its reign atop the movie world, “Breaking Dawn - Part 2” holds a comfortable lead over its theatrical competitors at the box office to begin the Thanksgiving weekend of November 21-25, 2012.
The final installment of "The Twilight Saga” franchise churned out another $13.3 million in estimated ticket sales on Wednesday while the Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart fronted vampire flick is projected to take in $67.3 million over the five day holiday run.
Still clasping ahold of its runner-up status is “Skyfall,” as the Daniel Craig starring James Bond production garnered $7.4 million on Wednesday with forecasted earnings of $49.7 million slated for the extended third weekend of release.
Filling out the top five at the box office in earmarked sales are the new Peter Ramsey directed animated family adventure "Rise of the Guardians" ($31.4 million) in third, followed by the Daniel Day Lewis historical biodrama “Lincoln” ($31.1 million) in fourth, and the Chris Hemsworth and Adrienne Palicki starring action caper "Red Dawn" ($24.6 million) debuting in fifth place.
