Though sampling has long been a staple of hip hop music, occasionally it leads to legal trouble. Such is the case for rapper Kanye West,
whose songs "Who Will Survive in America?" and "Lost in the World" used
New Orleans singer Eddie Bo's 1969 song, "Hook and Sling."
Even though Yeezy's label Roc-A-Fella paid a $62,500 license fee for
the rights to sample the tune, TufAmerica alleges that the parties
"failed and refused to enter into written license agreements that
accounted for their multiple other uses of [the song]."
Provide the details of mode of payment and transactions for the paid license fee, which helps you to make an entry in written agreement.
