Deschamps: Spain are better than France

Didier Deschamps fears France could be in for a tough game in Tuesday's 2014 World Cup qualifier against Spain as he believes their opponents are better both individually and collectively.

Both sides have collected six points from their opening two qualification games, and Deschamps has set his sights on causing an upset in Madrid in order to maintain France's 100 per cent start.

"There is little doubt that Spain will cause us difficulties. There is no denying that they have more individual quality and are better collectively as well. They are the best team in the world," Deschamps said at a press conference.

"However, our players all have faith in their own abilities. We have the chance to get something from this game if we play to our strengths.

"We have to be convinced of ourselves and be confident that we can win. It will be crucial to be effective in front of goal. We have to take our chances."

Meanwhile, Deschamps has received some good news on the injury front as Patrice Evra and Yohan Cabaye have both been given the green light to take part in Tuesday's encounter after having recovered from minor knocks.
