The Spice Girls Need To Reunite Permanently After Olympics Performance

Spice Girls Olympics

The Spice Girls brought us back to the 90′s with an unforgettable performance for the 2012 London Olympics on Aug. 12. After viewing their show-stopping performance, I definitely feel they should get back together!
Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), and Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), credited as paving the way for the commercial breakthrough of teen pop in the late 1990s, arrived in multi-colored taxis on a stage that resembled the Union Jack.
The girls excitedly performed two of their biggest hits, “Wannabe” and “Spice Up Your Life,” as they stood on top of their taxis and circled the stadium, ultimately thanking the fans who made them international pop stars!
Their performance is undeniably the talk of the ceremony — easily trumping the once hyped One Direction performance. And fans can’t get enough of the Spice Girls!
“We did it!! I love u girls so much!!!!! xxxvb,” Victoria tweeted after the performance, adding moments later, “I was a pop star for the night!! I love u @MelanieCmusic, @OfficialMelB, @GeriHalliwell, @EmmaBunton!! we did it!! X vb.”
Victoria then tweeted, “totally overwhelmed. Thank you so much to all of our AMAZING fans, I love u, VB x.”
Yes, you DO have AMAZING fans who would fully support you if you decide to record new music together!
The fans clearly supported the group when they reunited in 2008 for a limited tour and a Greatest Hits album! The tour was estimated to have grossed $100 million, despite its shortened run. Ticket sales for the first London date of “The Return of the Spice Girls” World Tour sold out in 38 seconds!
And in true Spice Girl form, the British quintet rocked skin-tight ensembles and looked fantastic — almost 15 years after they first charted on the pop scene. The fact that these girls haven’t aged a day since their heyday back in the late 90′s, is another GREAT reason for them to reunite. They’re clearly more capable of pulling off a killer performance — and looking hot — compared to many of today’s current pop stars.
“Oh what a night!” Geri tweeted. I’d have to agree!
The fab five looked so great! Do YOU think the Spice Girls should record new music together, HollywoodLifers?
