‘American Idol’: Randy Jackson Out — Nicki Minaj 99 Percent In?

It's official — Randy is out as judge on 'American Idol,' according to a new report.  And Nicki is 99 percent a done deal! Read on for all details.
Randy Jackson is officially leaving the judges table on American Idol after 11 seasons, according to a new report.

Although Randy is leaving the table, he will reportedly remain in a mentoring capacity — a position that producers are allegedly worried he's not suitable for, but know that Randy is "the glue" that keeps the show together, TMZ reports.

So who will replace Randy?

Sources tell TMZ that Nicki Minaj is 99% a done deal, and producers are thrilled that Mariah Carey and Nicki don't get along. The tension and conflict will allegedly bring in great ratings!

A friend of Mariah's tells HollywoodLife Via penpointreview.blogspot.com exclusively, "Mariah would love to have her dear friend Lenny Kravitz sit next to her on the American Idol judge panel. She thinks he would be the perfect choice because he is extremely talented and knows music inside and out."

Our source had some harsh words for Nicki! "Nicki on the other hand isn't established enough to qualify as a judge," they say. "Mariah wants a panel of bright, inspirational and constructive judges. Not some freak show! Mariah thinks Nicki will just be a distraction and it will all be about her and her outrageous behavior. Mariah will NOT be happy if Nicki joins the panel and she has let the producers know just how she feels!"

The report also claims that Idol will be bringing on a fourth judge as they're aiming to hire a country music artist to fill one of the other two vacant seats. Kanye West's name has also been thrown around.

How do YOU feel, HollywoodLifers? Where would you like to see Randy go?
