When was the last time you ever said Mariah Carey, Keith Urban, and Nicki Minaj in the same sentence? Well get used to it, as it appears that we may have three of the four judges lined up for the next season of American Idol. So that means Randy Jackson will be the man in the fourth spot right? We had a chance to speak to our Idol sources EXCLUSIVELY to clear the air on who is joining the show and who isn't and producers for the show have locked everything but a signature with Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj. Mariah Carey who signed for a whopping $18 million wasn't very keen on sharing the stage with Nicki Minaj but has waned in her complaints now that the show is adding a fourth male judge to even out the table.

And concerning the fourth judge being a male, it will not be Randy Jackson, as we have been told he is going to take on a mentor role like Jimmy Iovine has done the last couple years, but we have also learned that if they can't find a fourth judge that meshes with the cast in time then Randy is ready to sit in the chair for another season.
So who will fill in the fourth judging spot? We have been told that Kayne West is out of the running and Nick Jonas probably will not take on the fourth chair as well. Someone very likely to take the spot is Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe, who may take over the reigns as the "British judge." Luckily he has plenty of practice as a judge from his work on So You Think You Can Dance. What we do know is that the fourth judge is definitely a wild card.
We have also been told they need all the judges locked down by September 22, which will be the time they start filming the show with all the judges.
When approached about the potential judges shakeup, reps from FOX said, "No Comment".

You must be kidding. Nygel will seal the fate of AI going down in flames. He is the most unlikeable, most unqualified person they will ever have in the judges seat. Def will never watch a show Nygel is on. Stopped watching SYTYCD because of him. Loved that show, but just cannot stand him!! He ruined it for me! He is obnoxious and an egomaniac. Where does he come off judging singing, performances. He is part of what has gone wrong at AI and now you are saying he is going to not only produce the show, but judge it!! I'm laughing at that one! PlZ!! Let this not be true!!
ReplyDeleteNo..No..No...if it is true then the show is dead to me..I can't stand Ningel,Mariah..Nickie Minaj is a Joke. I guess its for the best that this show just goes away...There was a little hope with Adam Lambert but if not then its over for sure.
