Explosive War Games in Iran

Iran's state television reported that the country's air force began 10 days of explosive war games on Tuesday , 6 September, in its north-western region.

Video footage of military aircrafts mid-air dropping bombs on ground targets aired on IRINN, according to Reuters reports.

According to the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) that is only the first of the four stages of the game. "The second stage will begin on Shahrivar 22 (September 13), where we will display tactical flights, and drop war-munitions, whether they are air-to-air or air-to land missiles," Mohsen Darrehbaghi, Deputy Commander of Air Forces told the news agency. He also added that "the domestically made Saeqeh (lightning) aircraft will be displayed firing ammunition for the first time.

The war games or weapons' test is Iran's way of flexing its military muscles, and "show its determination to counter any attack by the United States or Israel on sites where they believe nuclear weapons are made." The country has maintained it is innocent of creating nuclear bombs of any kind
