Family and friends mourn Winehouse in quiet funeral

Family and friends of Amy Winehouse, including actress Kelly Osbourne, gathered at Golders Green crematorium after 2pm on Tuesday (July 26) for the late singer-songwriter's cremation.

Her father Mitch, mother Janis and brother Alex were among the first to arrive, and were joined by Winehouse's boyfriend Reg Traviss.

Osbourne was dressed in black and wore her hair in a beehive do reminiscent of Winehouse's own distinctive style.

Music producer and friend Mark Ronson, who worked with British singer on her multi Grammy-award winning album "Back To Black", was among the last to arrive.

As the mourners gathered there was no sign of Winehouse's body arriving from outside the crematorium.

There were unconfirmed reports that a private ambulance had brought the body in from another entrance.

Mitch Winehouse led mourners into the crematorium's West Chapel at 2.45pm.

Fans and onlookers joined the large media pack outside, slowing down traffic, and were directed by police and security.

Fans and onlookers gathered outside the singer's Camden home to pay tribute to the artist and her musical achievements. One female fan who lives up the road said he would be remembered for her music, rather than her lifestyle.

"She definitely would be, more than the drugs and whatever, but I think more for her talent. I mean people that I know in Camden that loved her just for her music, not for anything else, so, yeah," said the fan.

Others praised her individuality, as well as her beauty, believing that to be her legacy.

"I think because she was different - that's a first, and there was no lies around her. She was out front, and her voice. Her voice was so beautiful, a beautiful artist," said one female fan.

Funeral services are scheduled throughout Tuesday for the singer, including at the Edgewarebury Cemetery in greater London (attended earlier by Ronson), and a shiva expected in Southgate, north London, where Winehouse's will remain over the next few days.

The "Rehab" singer was found dead at her home in Camden on Saturday (July 23) at the age of 27.

A post mortem on the singer on Monday (July 25) failed to determine how she died and more toxicology tests are being carried out, with the results are expected in the next two to four weeks, police said.
